About this page
This is the anchor page of a tree of pages from which to document the use and installation of software tools for Post-Processing.
The idea is to make this the final & formal place to document these tools, hopefully maintained by the owner/developer of each software package?
The general pattern of pages I envision is:
- PPTools/Toolname is the general introduction to that tool.
- for a simple tool like Jeebies, this may be the only page.
- also -- when the tools is owned and documented mostly outside of PGDP, for example Tidy, a single summary page with links to the tool's home page.
- PPTools/Toolname/subtopic for as many subtopics as needed.
- Guiguts for example needs about 16 subtopics. Other tools may need none, or two or three.
- PPTools/Toolname/Install for how to acquire and install the tool.
- If runs on only one platform, or if installation in all platforms is really simple, only the one page is needed.
- PPTools/Toolname/Install/Windows
- PPTools/Toolname/Install/Mac
- PPTools/Toolname/Install/Linux
- etc. as required.
The top level of sub-pages, e.g. PPTools/Gutcheck, should be linked from the Post-Processing Advice page -- and anywhere else that a given tool is referenced.
Note Because I've used the "slash" naming convention, any page in this tree has a "trail of breadcrumbs" at the top that leads back to ... here!
Which means that people will come back to PPTools so it needs to be at least presentable as a list of tools.
