I have been involved with Project Gutenberg since around 1999. Although aware of DP from its beginning, I only became involved regularly since 2006 or so.
Roles at Project Gutenberg
At PG, I have prepared some solo books, often adapted from other online sources. I've also helped to update and/or improve many of the older books in the collection. I have put in many hours editing the catalog, and still occasionally help with that. Also, I am one of the moderators for the PG facebook page, and help respond to messages sent to that account.
Roles at Distributed Proofreaders
At DP, most of my efforts have been as a PM and PP. I occasionally do some proofreading in P2. For years now, I have been the main instigator of anything dealing with the language Esperanto at DP. I have been PM and/or PP for the majority of the Esperanto texts that have gone through our system.
I also have helped to refine and develop our character suites, since the site's transition to Unicode.
Where did the name Bunny-crunch come from?
As a music diploma student, my main instrument of study was piano. My secondary choice was voice. There was a small group of us who were doing voice as second instrument, and the singing teacher who was our instructor was organizing a show in an alternative arts venue. She got us all involved in this rather quirky "environmental cantata", where we each sang the parts of different plant and animal characters. I got the character of Bunny-crunch. I still remember my brief solo line, which started: "Fe fe fe fa! Bunny-crunch has got to munch..." So when I created my DP account, all that was still in recent memory. At the time, I did not expect to be a frequent part of the DP community--I was just "looking around", so I thought, what silly name can I use? And thus did the name Bunny-crunch come to be.
